Description
The Dachshund, meaning badger dog in German, is a lively breed with a friendly personality and keen sense of smell. Known for their long and low bodies, they are eager hunters that excel in both above and below ground work. One of the most popular breeds according to AKC. They are curious, clever, lively, affectionate, proud, brave and amusing and devoted to its family.
Piebald dachshunds such as Fritz can be bicolored or tricolored. They have a white body with patches of one or two solid colors, as in red on white, or black and tan on white. The patches may range from a few spots to covering over 50 percent of the body. There may be ticking throughout the white areas, or they may be solid white.

Beautiful little dog - love that catchlight that shows a twinkle in his eye. Curious like Fritz is, I wonder just what has caught his attention just off frame. Beautiful coloring too!!! I did not know dachshunds could be bicolored or tricolored as that I typically see them in one solid color.

Thank you, Chrystyne. We didn't know about Piebalds until a friend gave us Fritz. They are not that common.
