Everywhere you look as you drive the narrow roads of Acadia National Park, you can see the roisterous Atlantic Ocean, the rocky boulders and cliffs and plateaus. It's a step through the trees often lining the road to a great wide-open view to forever. It would help to be a mountain goat at many of the stops, as I proved I wasn't.......

Bar Harbor, Maine, is the host to many of the travelers to Acadia. Acadia Park encompasses more than 47,000 acres, 30,300 of which are on Mount Desert Island. Acadia is one of the smaller national parks in the country, yet it attracts nearly 3 million visitors per year.
