Description
Tree Swallow Songbird by Christina Rollo. A beautiful male Tree Swallow (Tachycineta bicolor), perched in a crabapple tree with fresh flower blooms in spring. Tree Swallows are normally single-brooded and highly social outside of the breeding season, they may congregate in flocks of several thousand birds near roost sites. They feed on a diet of mostly insects and are excellent fliers, capable of acrobatically catching insects in mid-air.
