Description
Pine Siskin Bird by Christina Rollo. Close up of a Pine Siskin (Carduelis pinus), sitting on a log near the edge of the forest. Pine Siskins are very small songbirds. They have sharp, pointed bills and short, notched tails with yellow tinged under feathers. Their bill is uniquely shaped and more slender than most other finches. Pine Siskins prefer coniferous or mixed coniferous and deciduous forests with open canopies. They are also opportunistic and adaptable in searching for seeds.
