Description
Butterfly Twins by Christina Rollo. Two vibrant orange and black Fritillary butterflies feeding on pink flower with a soft green background. Their wings are open and display a pattern of spots and stripes, which is characteristic of their species. Two Rivers Photography, competition winner.
When I first took this photo it wasn't one of my favorites, but I quickly realized I had been taking these beautiful butterflies for granted after the image won a photo competition. It's not unusual for me to see two or three butterflies on a flower. These coneflowers are one of the most productive flowering plants in our garden. They attract a wide variety of species, including insects, butterflies, and birds.
