A Look To Remember by Christina Rollo. The Baltimore Oriole (Icterus galbula), is commonly found in eastern North America and is a migratory breeding bird. This bird received its name from the male's colors which resemble those on the coat-of-arms of Lord Baltimore. At one time, this species and the Bullock's Oriole, were considered to be a single species called the Northern Oriole. The Baltimore Oriole is the state bird of Maryland in the USA.
