Description
Early morning sunlight illuminates some of the statues surrounding the main door of the cathedral in Tarragona Spain. The statues are of saints and the apostles, designed by Jaume Cascalis and his workshop in the 14th century. The Cathedral of Tarragona is a Roman Catholic Church located in a site previously occupied by a Roman temple dating to the time of Tiberius, a Visigothic cathedral, and a Moorish mosque. There is little information about the origins of the church but it dates from the early 12th century. It was declared a national monument in 1905.
